Overview

Coffee Quitter is built on a no-backend architecture. We don't run servers that store your data. Your information stays on your device or in your personal iCloud account.

Data Storage

Local Storage (On-Device)

All your data—including caffeine logs, plan settings, custom drinks, and daily summaries—is stored locally on your device using SQLite[cite: 2, 3]. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to back it up to iCloud.

iCloud Backup (Optional)

If you sign in with Apple and enable backup, your data is stored in your private, encrypted iCloud account using Apple CloudKit. This backup is:

  • Stored in your iCloud storage (counts toward your 5GB+ quota)
  • Encrypted by Apple
  • Not accessible to us or anyone else
  • Only used to restore your data after app deletion or on a new device

Authentication

Sign in with Apple is used only for account identification. We receive a unique, anonymized user ID from Apple—not your real name or email unless you explicitly choose to share it.

Data Deletion & Account Revocation

We believe you should have complete control over your data. You can initiate a full data purge at any time:

  1. In-App Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data via the Settings > Delete Account menu within the app. This action is immediate and irreversible.
  2. Token Revocation: Upon account deletion, we automatically revoke your Sign in with Apple authorization token, ensuring your Apple ID is no longer linked to our service.
  3. Local data: To clear only local data without deleting your account, you may simply delete the app from your device.
  4. iCloud backup: To manually remove cloud data, go to Settings → Profile → Settings > Manage Storage → Coffee Quitter → Delete Documents & Data.

Analytics & Tracking

Within the App

Zero tracking. The app does not send any usage data, crash reports, or analytics to external servers. We do not use device fingerprinting, tracking pixels, or any hardware signals to identify you across other apps or websites.

On This Website

We use privacy-conscious analytics (e.g., Plausible or Fathom) to track anonymized events like "App Store Download" button clicks. No personal data, cookies, or tracking pixels.

Third-Party Services

Coffee Quitter uses the following Apple services:

  • Apple CloudKit: For optional iCloud backup/restore
  • Sign in with Apple: For account identification

These services are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The "Effective Date" at the top will always reflect the latest version.
