Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 11, 2026
Overview
Coffee Quitter is built on a no-backend architecture. We don't run servers that store your data. Your information stays on your device or in your personal iCloud account when you opt in to backup.
Children's Privacy
Coffee Quitter is not directed at children under 13. We do not market to children or ask them to submit information to us. The app has no backend—we do not receive or host your usage data on our servers—so we are not in a position to “collect” app data the way an online account service would. Data stays on the user’s device (and optionally in that user’s own iCloud if they use backup). If you are a parent or guardian with questions about a minor’s use of the app, contact us at support@coffeequitter.app.
Data Storage
Local Storage (On-Device)
All your data—including health-related intake logs (caffeine milligrams and related drink entries), reduction plan settings, custom drinks, and daily summaries—is stored locally on your device using SQLite. This data does not leave your device unless you choose to back it up to iCloud.
iCloud Backup (Optional)
If you use Sign in with Apple and backup, a backup file is stored in your private iCloud account using Apple's iCloud container storage (file-based backup tied to your Apple ID). We do not operate our own servers for this data. This backup is:
- Stored in your iCloud storage (counts toward your Apple iCloud quota)
- Encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple's systems
- Not readable by us—we cannot access your iCloud data
- Only used so you can restore your data after reinstalling the app or on a new device
Authentication
Sign in with Apple is used only for account identification. We receive a unique, anonymized user ID from Apple—not your real name or email unless you explicitly choose to share it.
Data Deletion & Account Revocation
We believe you should have complete control over your data. You can initiate a full data purge at any time:
- In-App Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data via Profile → Delete Account in the app. This action is intended to be immediate and irreversible.
- Token Revocation: Upon account deletion, we automatically revoke your Sign in with Apple authorization token, ensuring your Apple ID is no longer linked to our service.
- Local data: To clear only local data without deleting your account, you may simply delete the app from your device.
- iCloud backup: To remove cloud data on iOS, use Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Coffee Quitter and delete documents/data for the app, or sign out of iCloud backup by deleting your account in-app.
Analytics & Tracking
Within the App
Zero tracking. The app does not send any usage data, crash reports, or analytics to external servers. We do not use device fingerprinting, tracking pixels, or any hardware signals to identify you across other apps or websites.
On This Website
We do not use advertising pixels or marketing trackers on this site. We may use Plausible Analytics (privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics) to measure aggregate website usage such as pageviews and key click events (for example, App Store download button clicks). We do not use Google Analytics. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages; like any host, Cloudflare may process basic technical data (for example IP address and request logs) when you load a page, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Third-Party Services
Website: Hosting and delivery via Cloudflare (see above).
Website analytics (if enabled): Plausible Analytics for aggregated pageview and click-event reporting.
App (when you use these features):
- iCloud (container storage): Optional backup/restore of your local data
- Sign in with Apple: Optional account identification for backup
Apple's services are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The "Effective Date" at the top will always reflect the latest version.
